Worldview 2

This system is the remains of Invest 98P while just north of New Zealand.

Running from the top left to bottom right are two thin lines of small clouds. These were likely caused by the outflow from thunderstorms that have since dissipated.

This weak low is just off the southeast coast of New Zealand. The rugged terrain of the island likely caused the odd triangle like geometry.

Here, airflow over mountains has created a complex series of wave clouds. For reference, Tokyo is in the top right of the image, and Mt.Fuji is the bright white dot just left of center.

This was a massive storm over the Northwest Pacific that produced hurricane force winds. The main front, from right to bottom left, extends from far north all the way down to the Philippines in the tropics.

Here is another example of von Karman waves, caused by the same island, but these are much more chaotic than the example in the last Worldview post.

This is a shot of Tropical Storm Emang in the South Indian Ocean. Heavy shear caused the low level circulation center to be entirely exposed.

Aqua's overpass was timed just right so that the glare from the Sun's reflection lined up with a series of lakes in Northwestern Australia. Just a few minuets off and the glare would have missed the water, making these lakes dull and hard to see.
